The membership year runs from September 1st through August 31st. New members may join at any time by completing an application form available below or the Membership Chair. Those joining after January 31st pay half the annual membership fee. All questions regarding membership should be directed to the Membership Chair.
PRIVILEGES OF MEMBERSHIP
- Fellowship with a group of friendly fellow sewers and quilters and the opportunity to share projects and inspiration with other members
- Nine (9) educational meetings annually featuring a speaker or special activity and a potluck luncheon
- Holiday party in December
- Newsletter
- Member directory and member handbook
- Membership card (many quilt shops give discounts to card-carrying quilt guild members)
- Block of the Month and other challenges
- Special classes and other events
- Opportunities to participate in charitable activities
- Voting privileges
RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEMBERSHIP
- Regular attendance at meetings
- Participation in VQ activities, including:
- Contributing food to monthly potlucks
- Volunteering to help set up or clean-up for meetings at least once a year
- Chairing or serving on committees
- Supporting the Quilt Bingo or other events by selling tickets and attending
- Sharing talents with other members
- Contributing at least one piece of work for quilt shows
MONTHLY MEETINGS
Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month from September through June.
Meetings start at 10 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

GUEST POLICY
Guests are welcome at meetings for a fee of $3 and may decide whether or not to bring a dish for the potluck table. Guests may attend two meetings, paying the required guest fee, and thereafter shall pay membership dues. Guest fees should be paid to the Membership Chair. At the regular December meeting, VQ hosts a special holiday party for all members that includes a potluck luncheon and special holiday activities. The December meeting is open to members only.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
If BALTIMORE COUNTY schools are CLOSED, we WILL NOT meet. There is a Hereford zone in Baltimore County that is farther north. If schools are closed ONLY in the Hereford zone, we WILL meet. If school is late, we will meet.
